Description
The Nikāyasaṅgrahaya is a late 14th-century account of the history of the Buddhist order in India and Sri Lanka down to the reign of Bhuvanaikabāhu V (1371–1408) written in Sinhala. Professor Bretfeld’s critical edition and new English translation of this important work is accompanied by a substantial introduction. It supersedes the pioneering edition and translation published in Ceylon over 100 years ago.
