Description
Translation of the Dhammapada
Translation of Dhammapada, one of the most popular Buddhist texts, many of the verses of which have parallels in the texts of other Buddhist schools and in non-Buddhist sources.
It is a collection of verses arranged according to their subject matter and is the first Pāli text to have been edited in Europe. It is the second book of the Khuddaka-nikāya of the Sutta-piṭaka and this edition uses all the latest research. The 1914 edition by Ven. Suriyagoda Sumangala is no longer available from the PTS.
Other translation in Minor Anthologies, Vol. I (no longer available from the PTS)
