A Critical Pāli Dictionary: Vol III
£90.00
Begun by V. Trenckner; revised, continued and edited by Dines Anderson and Helmer Smith and others.
A Critical Pāli Dictionary, a project of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters, was planned as an exhaustive Pali-English dictionary but was never completed; the project was discontinued in 2011.
Three volumes were published in a series of between 1925 and 2011 covering a–kāreti, about one third of the Pali lexicon.
The completed part still often provides the fullest definition in English of many Pali words, although it has now been partially superseded by Margaret Cone’s A Dictionary of Pāli. The PTS has for sale the remaining stock of the individually published parts (fascicles) of volumes 1–3.
The fullest Pali-English dictionary covering a-kāreti.
The dictionary has been discontinued after III.8.
Begun by V. Trenckner; revised, continued and edited by Dines Anderson and Helmer Smith et al.
